We're Not A Happy Team...

at Hawthorn.

Well done Melba... your boys definitely benefitted from your presence at the game on Friday.

They're looking good to win the premiership again this year!

My boys were rubbish. Lots of wasted opportunities. If I'd been there I would have gone and given them a (collective) sharp clip around the ear. Except for Campbell Brown. He's a good 'un.

i have to say i didn't enjoy the game very much. yes, it was cold. no, i wasn't drinking. but geelong seemed to not be as hungry as hawthorn, and to be honest, geelong were lucky to win. both sides made mistakes, or were fumbly. methinks it was the dew, and the lights. whoever thinks a night grand final is a good thing is an IDIOT.

I don't know if Melbourne is anything like Sydney, but up here they only serve light beer at the SCG. Something about people not getting as drunk, or having to buy twice as many to get drunk. Its bollocks.

Night grand finals are wrong. Just wrong.

Grand finals should start with a leisurely breakfast, move on to a couple of pre-game beers, followed by a late lunch of meat pies and more beer while watching the game then depending on whether your team has won or lost, more beer to celebrate or console. And then you fall into bed about 9pm with a sore throat from singing your team song at the top of your voice all day.

You can't have the same experience at night, it just wouldn't work.

PS. The only time I drink beer EVER is when I'm at the football. And only out of a plastic cup. Pathetic.

Yup - I predict a yours vs mine grand final this year... only because I won't be in the country to witness it.

I'm hoping there will be lots of pubs in Edinburgh opening early in the morning for me to go and watch it.

that's like me last year. we couldn't find a tv in istanbul which was showing it. you'll be able to find something in edinburgh, surely!
