Ludicrous Lyrics (1 of Many)

"You're So Vain"
Carly Simon
#1 in both the USA and Australia
Ranked at #72 on Billboard's Greatest Songs of All Time.

This one has had me stumped for years. And since it just popped up on shuffle, I thought I'd share my confusion and see if anyone wants to put their two cents worth in. Or more accurately five cents, given we've eliminated one and two cent coins from our currency in Australia.

Is the lyric actually:

"I had a dream there were clouds in my coffee"

"I had a dream there were clowns in my coffee"

Either way, it's a pretty stupid lyric.

Why would there be either clouds or clowns in your coffee? And how big would the cup need to be to hold them? And if you drank them would there be any ill-effects?

Just a random thought for today.

In other news. Beetroot dip. Greatest thing ever? I've nearly scoffed a whole tub on my own in one sitting.

Howdy do Miss m_m.

It's raining today and I think you might even be out of town? (NZ or something is in my mind from facebook status.)

When next you are around and free on a Wed or Fri AND it's not raining let's catch up again...

Do you still have my number?

Melbs xx

I've always been amazed at the lyrics of Mermaid Smiled.

(lyrics start at about 30 sec onwards).

Skylarking was a very special album.
