Let's just take a minute and all bow down to Bob, shall we?
I've not written anything about the Aussie version of The Biggest Loser, which is a bit odd considering I am really loving seeing spunky Bob on my TV five nights a week.
But I will. Just not today. Today I need to finish an application for a mentorship program which is due Friday. And I need to be putting in some quality script time before my rehearsal this afternoon.
But just in case you were wondering, here's an abridged version of my opinions:
Bob rocks. Especially after that soccer match last night.
Jillian is cool. She scored major points from me after her "Get up... woman" comment to Wal (who had just collapsed mid push-up).
I'm not sold on Ajay Rochester... if you close your eyes (or if you've ducked out to the kitchen to make a snack), she sounds like Georgie Parker. Christ knows we don't need another Georgie on TV. And since when is she a size 10, like she claims in her biog? If she's a size 10, I'm still shopping in the kid's section.
My Blue team favourites are Artie, Tracy and Fiona (aka Custard Girl). Especially Artie. He cracks me up. I can take or leave Cat - she's a bit insipid. I want to slap Harry for being an obnoxious, rude, insensitive, ignorant pig. That whole crying about his kids thing was a ploy to mask his nasty side.
Adro is the only (current) red team member I like. His face after that football game! I really liked David, but he got dudded by his team. Jo was a two-faced bitch - glad she's gone. Shane is creepy and weird. There's something quite shifty about him. Kristie and Ruth are like two bitchy mums in the schoolyard who talk behind the other mother's backs. I don't like or trust either of them.
And the jury is still out on Big Wal. Some nights I like him, other nights I want to smack him.
But in the end, for me, its all about Bob.
Let's just have another perve...

More soon.

can we share?
We can share Elaine. I'll have him Monday, Wednesday and Friday and you can have him Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. We'd better give him Sunday off to rest.
Dxxxx, I thought Kristie was ok at first, but the more I watch her the more I don't trust her.
I have to say though that this version (as did season 2 in the States) is missing an essential character...
Mo.
God I loved that man.
"I'm a rib-eye kinda guy myself..."
There's no one quite like Mo.
I agree with Dxxxx about Kristie. I actually think she and Adro are the nicest players in the game. I know what you're saying, Magical_M, but I think those sentiments describe Jo and Ruth - not Kristie. (And they also describe Tracey on the Blue Team.)
Jo - ahh! What a face! So disturbing and her smiles and glares (and crocodile tears?) were all too much. Wifey was laughing at how Jo would freakme out and sometimes I had to look away because she was so weird and off-putting! I'm also very glad she's gone. She should have been the first to go (then the Red Team may have lost enough weight in the second week to avoid the elimination room).
I think Shane's just a sweet guy who's shy and has an unfortunate face when he's thinking or puffed. His beard doesn't help. I hope Jillian makes good on her proimise soon to shave it off him.
Artie is bad news, though. Poisonous little two-faced bitch, he is. I generally don't like the Blue Team for their attacks on the Red Team as soon as they discover who the Red Team voted off (without knowing the reasons why, bothering to ask, or even caring what they might be), and their boasting whenever they beat the Red Team at something (weigh-in, tasks, temptations, etc). They simply do it to stir up and hurt the Red Team, so Wifey and I have disliked them almost from the start.
Fiona's okay, though. A little naive and doomed to be voted off the first time the Blue Team face elimination (especially now that trouble-maker Wal has 'switched sides', as it were), but she's sweet.
I completely agree with you about Harry, although I was glad to see him take the blame for the incident on the football field (instead of telling the camera that it was Adro's fault, or that he was all up in his face or something). He can be a jerk, yes. (But I think that's not the real Harry - I'm sure it's the environment he's in making him act like that; but I still agree he can be nasty, ergo, he's nasty.)
... Um, ... should I have perhaps remained quiet and given the illusion that I'm not watching this show?? ...
Ah, whatever. I'm Mr TV, and you all know that. :)
Bevis I love that you're the only guy I know who will openly admit to watching TBL and will actually offer an opinion on the state of play.
Most of my guy friends rubbish it but still know who is who.
I think they've all got secret crushes on Jillian.
I have a secret crush on Jillian in addition to my outward crush on the hottness that is Trainer Bob.
I too loved the "Get up...woman"
must dash, it's one of my Bob days...
OMG, you know all the contestants? I've been catching bits and pieces, but I haven't a clue all their names yet. Bob, yeah, now I did catch his name though ;)
I did catch that "Get up woman" comment - priceless.
Kathie
Dxxxx - Jillian is all yours.
Kathie - Yes, I'm sad like that. I've loved TBL since the first season in the US. I wish I could say it motivates me to exercise but it doesn't. It just motivates me to think about exercise.
